Effective August 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information GunCollector.com LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects when you use GunCollector (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.
Account information: your email address and authentication details, handled through our identity provider (Amazon Cognito), plus basic profile info if you sign in with Google.
Inventory data you provide: the firearms, ammunition, accessories, maintenance records, range trips, and any photos or notes you choose to enter into your account. This is the core content of the Service and is visible only to you.
Usage data: basic technical information such as browser type, device type, and general usage patterns within the app, collected to help us diagnose problems and improve the Service.
We use the information above to operate and provide the Service to you (for example, authenticating you and displaying your inventory), to communicate with you about your account, to maintain security and prevent abuse, and to fix bugs and improve the Service over time. We do not use your firearms inventory data for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.
Your data is stored using Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure, including Cognito for authentication. We share information with service providers only to the extent needed to run the Service (for example, our cloud hosting provider), and we require those providers to protect your data. We do not sell your data to third parties, and we do not share your inventory data with advertisers, data brokers, or law enforcement except where required by valid legal process.
We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and Cognito's Secure Remote Password protocol for authentication, so your password is never transmitted in plain text — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, or loss.
We retain your account and inventory data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information and inventory data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain it for legal or security reasons.
You can access, update, or delete the inventory data in your account at any time through the app itself. You can request a copy of your data or request that we delete your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the CCPA/CPRA (California) or GDPR (EU/UK) — contact us and we'll do our best to honor applicable requests.
The Service is not directed to children, and firearms ownership and use are adult activities in virtually every jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
We use essential cookies and browser storage needed to keep you signed in and to make the app work (for example, storing session tokens). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, by email or an in-app notice) before the changes take effect.
